In June 2007, the European Commission published the final form of the Euro 5b vehicle type approval regulation [link oder pdf]. Among numerous other novelties, Euro 5b introduces the number count of solid particles as an additional, new metric of particles emitted from light-duty diesel vehicles. A number based emission limit is to be enforced as soon as Euro 5b (September 2011).
Matter Engineering provided a significant contribution to the development of this new limit value by providing the “Golden Instrument” to the Particle Measurement Programme (PMP) and our over ten year long experience and expertise. Our product line is fully PMP-compliant. Its modules can also be delivered as stand alone units for other applications such as research or laboratory purposes.

meViPR - complete PMP-compliant measuring system for the number count of solid particles. meViPR is the latest generation of equipment, based on the famous “Golden Instrument”– reference during the crucial phase of PMP – and uses the award-winning, “Volatile Particle Removal” technology, [ more ]

MD19-3E - Accurate dilution of aerosols usually requires precise and stable mass flow control, specially if large dilution ratios and ranges are requested. Our newly improved and long time proven rotating disc method of dilution avoids several problems of the conventional dilution technique and opens new ways for application in aerosol and gas [ more ]

ASET-2E - Evaporation tube and secondary diluter for the removal of volatile particles from a dilute exhaust sample. During dilution and cooling of vehicle exhaust, e.g. in a CVS tunnel, vapours of volatile material condense into nanodroplets, which distort the measurement of nanoparticles. ASET15-1 bounces volatiles back into the vapour phase and helps to keep the measurement easy and significant. [ more ]

CU-2 - Every instrument should have an easy way to store data and organize the information collected during testing and measurement programs. The CU-2 data acquisition unit has been improved with an AK protocol allowing remote control of the Matter Engineering Solid Particle counting ViPR with any kind of external computer.
